The mid-to-late 80s were all about groups/alliances for Japanese software companies, it seems! There was Super Software Team (SST) with Tokyo-based companies, Trinity with Kansai-based companies, and even Disk Original Group (DOG) with PC software companies. Did consumers even care for any of this?

Here's graphics from the unreleased PC-88 version of Aliens: Alien 2, taken and cleaned up from old Japanese computer magazines. Square also advertised the game coming for the X1, FM77AV, MSX, and FDS, but ultimately only the MSX version came out. A FDS prototype was leaked in 2011.

More code wrestling with my old NES source archives. This time I've managed to get version 48 of NES Wolverine running - dated 23rd October 1990. As you can see, we have an elevator mechanic in this early build - very 'Impossible Mission' like! Wolverine and Logan sprite variations too. No claws yet

At E3 2002 Ubisoft had Moto Racer Advance tucked waaaay in the back of its booth, but it was a headliner for me. One of the GBA's early and most impressive"super scaler" games...that draw distance alone! Gameplay's a little heavy but the devs (Adeline/Delphine) pushed 60 FPS *and* link support.

Actually found something kinda weird. It's a PS1 CD-R, "Arcade Party Pak" scribbled on it, but it boots to this menu. Some of the games (Gorf, Satan's Hollow) don't load at all, Smash TV doesn't have music. None of the collections Digital Eclipse did for PS1 would have this many games on it.
