I distinctly remember seeing these watermelons in Toy Story 2 for N64 and having this realization that a 3D model in a game could lie. It was fun to grow up with N64 and pick apart the tricks. That Retro Studios interview makes the fact that Metroid Prime 4 is as overall good as it is pretty remarkable. Sounds like they were handed a dumpster fire and told they had to keep the dumpster and just put out the fire. Somehow they came out with average review score of like 8/10. Amazing.
