Do you notice how - just like they do with all the other avoidable calamities - the lads can go from “the public are crying out for exactly this kind of shit-hot political ninja” to “what idiot thought this clueless dork was good”, without ever having been wrong at any point between these positions.

If everyone is acting in the best interests of the public and everyone wants more trust in politics then maybe have fewer articles where almost nobody will put their name to thoughts they still manage to get in the paper.

If your husband/wife asks if you've had an affair and you hadn't, you'd say no, right? You wouldn't say "I don't believe so"

On 15 December, Jeffrey Epstein asked Lord Mandelson if the tax could be amended so it applied only to cash bonuses (not the, much more valuable, non-cash elements such as share options). Mandelson said that he was trying hard to amend the tax.

I assume the point being made here is that if Starmer is replaced by someone they don’t like, then the whole cohort will go straight back up to 2019 levels of apeshit enraged screeching about not getting what they want.

I'm confused: Was this about arresting and prosecuting a corrupt despotic dictator responsible for murderous drug trafficking and narco-terrorism, or was it about the United States seizing control of a foreign nation's strategic resources? Not to worry, I'm sure the press will find out.

No more justifiable than, say, the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Wars of aggression are the type of thing we executed senior Nazis for, at the end of World War II, and we were IMO correct to do that.

Right wing politics, ladies and gentlemen: asset-stripping the wealth of nations for decades, hoarding it in offshore bank accounts, then telling you that the poorest people in the country are to blame for the stripped out infrastructure and the key to national success is described in Mein Kampf.

Especially grim because this is a Labour government doing it, and there is no meaningful opposition. We have been deep in National Front Trumpy territory for many years now, no help is coming for a long, long time and what comes next will be much worse and uglier than this is.

Very sad how this season is playing out for Liverpool. Wirtz and Isak for all that money have been so so poor. There's no getting away from it the summer transfer strategy was just all wrong.

Every year of this century has been uglier, dumber, meaner, more needlessly cruel, more exploitative and more insulting than the one that preceded it and nobody can explain why without pointing fingers at important people who cannot now be accused of culpability, without incurring painful costs.

I think at this point if you're including Diane Abbott - a woman who has never held government office, has been a backbencher since 2020, and is scarcely a government ally - on your list of political wrongdoers, we all know exactly what your real concerns are

3 weeks off that other hellsite that Musk has ruined. Barely digested any football news or 'banter' at all here and am fine with it. Timed it well given Liverpool's demise also. Feeling... pretty good?

Despite the serious nature of the findings, Fulham ignored several requests for comment. IUX, meanwhile, threatened to rain down hellfire on us. But… sometime over the weekend, IUX vanished from the Fulham website and Fulham vanished from the IUX website. 2/6

2011. What a gimp. Yes that's a Ramones shirt. No I couldn't name one song they did, but it cost about 10 baht/ 50p in Bangkok if I remember right.
