there's a devil on my shoulder that's been telling me for weeks that i have to play akalabeth despite knowing well i'm still not at that level of rpg freak to handle it

i think what also contributes to this is that i can’t stomach 40+ hour rpgs like these games need to absolutely wrap it up by the 30-35 hour mark, so i’m kind of stuck playing everything pre-ps1. in my ideal world 12-18 hour rpgs are much more common and anything more than 50 vanishes from existence

treasure hunter G's been completed. definitely one of my favorite rpgs at the moment. such an incredibly tight combat system and charming cast and world. only part i didn't feel the most attached to was its plot but i don't particularly value plots thaaat much. started ff5 tonight

"it's okay to admit when you dont know something" is 500% true but people (general) love to talk to you like you're a moron if you aren't on the same mental page they are and the desire to escape feeling like you're devolving into a baboon in front of someone is at times intense beyond rationality

don't really understand when people count a platform's worth based on backwards compatibility lmao? "yeah the wii is peak cause it can just play gamecube games anyway" like that's a nice bonus but what? not really convincing me on the former at all there, just more towards the latter if anything

forgot to post this earlier in the playthrough but watching this was honestly so cool. this game is already such a visual treat but watching the scene of kujira taking back the party while getting hit by these tides made me feel like a little kid having my mind blown at the coolest visual effects
