I’m watching the 2011 Three Musketeers this morning and shocked at how bonkers stacked the cast is.

In Oct 2023 I managed to watch 101 horror movies in 31 days. 2024 I failed to beat that record. This year, I not only beat the record, I MURDERED it! One hundred and fifty horror movies!

I have stared into the abyss, and it stared back. Today I watched *FOUR* Mickey Mouse/Steamboat Willie themed horror movies.

Marvel’s post-9/11 Call of Duty miniseries and follow-up The Call might just be the absolute worst books they ever put out. The plot is difficult to follow, the art made characters tough to distinguish from one another, and if this was intended to honor first responders, boy did they whiff that.

Just watched Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare and congratulations to War of the Worlds 2025 as it is no longer the worst movie I’ve seen this year!

I’ve made my checklist of horror franchises/movies I’ll be watching throughout October. Some might be in theaters, most’ll be streaming or rentals. And stuff will probably get added in as the month progresses (sometimes an interesting new release on Shudder/AMC+ or Hulu or whatever will drop).

This weekend I watched all ten movies in the Bloodfist franchise. All eight of Don “The Dragon” Wilson’s movies, the spinoff Angelfist and the attempted reboot Bloodfist 2050. Wouldn’t recommend them!

This movie is incredible. It’s a little like Home Alone if Michael Jai White was Macaulay Culkin, and the Wet Bandits were Billy Zane, Roald from Letterkenny, and a bunch of fuck-ups. Absolutely incredible.

Tonight’s movie: One of the few Robert Redford and Tony Scott movies I’ve never seen!

I’m doing an all-day marathon of Scott Adkins movies and I’ve reached Max Cloud, which is like the recent Jumanjis with more 80’s aesthetics. Everyone’s going at these roles HARD. Amazing movie.

I have now watched all four movies in the Best of the Best series and they are incredible. I think the Fast & Furious movies owe a LOT to this franchise. Because they get progressively more bonkers as the series goes along.

So today I just finished my months-long deep dive into Hellboy comics. Hellboy, BPRD, Abe Sapien, Lobster Johnson, Witchfinder… Did all of the omnis and really enjoyed all of them!

I’m watching Kickboxer 3: The Art of War, where they forgo the martial arts aspect for using a guns and folks shoot each other. I know @rifftrax.com hasn’t covered this movie, but every time Sasha Mitchell’s character shoots someone, all I hear is @billcorbett.bsky.social saying “Kickboxer!”
