and honestly, in our current climate, the LAST thing we need is more people trying to police the types of media others can enjoy or partake in, just because they find it personally objectionable. if it's not causing real harm to real individuals or groups, it should be allowed to exist... full stop.

ultimately do what's best for you, but art is art. it doesn't have to conform perfectly to your ideals or preferences. lord knows there are some movies and games I'll never engage with again because of how bad they fucked me up, but in the end I still got something worthwhile from experiencing them.

I actually think it's extremely good and healthy to experience art that makes you uncomfortable. discomfort is not equivalent to real, tangible harm. at the very least y'all should recognize uncomfortable art's right to exist, and to carry on with your life without making it everyone else's problem.
