Subconsciously we believe that if we just scream loud enough that we're unhappy, those who took our things will give them back. They will not. But you are more than your things, your habits. You have a mind that is adaptable and inventive. If you can't find joy, make some. Humans have this power.

Have multiple hobbies. Multiple people you care for and enjoy. Learn to take joy in creating. Encourage yourself to see and feel beauty. The sky is free of charge. Your thoughts can't be taxed. Never say a certain thing is "all that keeps you going." Find other things. Diversify.

It's going to become more and more important for you to hold the reins to your own happiness. It's never been wise to hinge your enjoyment of life in things that others control, but this is a time when people actively want to take away others' happiness. Keep it somewhere they can't reach it.
