Today marks the longest government shutdown in U.S. history. Federal workers are suffering, families are hungry, and Americans are being denied essential services—all while Congress sits empty. It’s time for Johnson & Trump to come to the table and reopen the government.

Food pantry demand is soaring, & it will only get worse with Trump's unlawful withholding of SNAP funds. Our community, including the Assistance Center of Towson Churches, is stepping up to feed our neighbors. But it’s on the Admin to release these funds. Hungry kids aren’t political pawns.

At my town hall, a constituent asked why Speaker Johnson is refusing to swear in Rep.-elect Grijalva. The answer? Because she's the final vote to force action on releasing the Epstein files. Protecting child predators instead of democracy is shameful.

I’m outside the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) with federal workers and my Democrat colleagues pushing back against Trump’s illegal firing of public servants during this shutdown. It’s cruel and wrong.

Week two of the Republican shutdown.   Democrats have a plan to restore healthcare funding & reopen the government, but House GOP won’t show up because Speaker Johnson canceled votes.   Maybe it's because when the House returns, we’ll have the votes to release the Epstein files. 🤷‍♂️

Today marks two years since the darkest day for the Jewish people since the Holocaust. The brutal murder of 1,200 people remains a deep and lasting pain for Jewish communities everywhere, including MD-02. We mourn the lives lost and pray for the return of 48 hostages, including two Americans.
