Your life data & willpower isn't a commodity. Billionaires should be able to buy islands, business assets, property. In other words—actual commodities. They shouldn't be able to buy YOU. They shouldn't have purchasing power of your beliefs, feelings, and life data.

Do me a favor and compliment someone today. Tell an artist/creator or whoever that the thing they made is cool. This year has started off unimaginably horrible, and it's probably not going to get better anytime soon. Spread a bit of love. Make someone's day. We all need that now more than ever.

it's so important to make time for yourself, rest, treat yourself gently and with kind words. you, not me, I have to run myself ragged until I collapse in a pile of exhausted self-hatred but you should definitely self care.

It's nice that something can be valued at $0 dollars, $117 dollars, $35 dollars, and $15 dollars at the same time. Really shows you that Capitalism knows what it's doing. I'm not sure which wildly different price range I should take here.

In a world with 8.2 bil humans, you'll lose your mind trying to belong to a consensus. There's no ground to stand on in the fluctuating voices of sycophants being carried where the wind takes them. You'll only drift aimlessly until, at last, you find sure footing in the creative freedom of being.

This morning’s sunshine has reminded me of the word ‘philocaly’: a love of beauty, even in the smallest things.

It's clear that a lot of academics don't believe philosophy is about critical thinking. They believe philosophy is about categorization. When you ask people to think about things they've already categorized, they can't because that would require taking off the neat & tidy bow they've placed on it.

Never more true than in a philosophy discussion. If you come into a philosophy discussion repeating what you knew yesterday, then the philosophy has failed you. Or you have failed the philosophy. Instead of proof of validity, each discussion should add depth & nuance to what you already knew.
