Mostly because I was pursuing a refugee claim in Canada and was made very aware that any contact with the US government could be seen by the authorities as "re-availment" of protection they sure as shit aren't offering.

It's amazing that even as someone who hasn't set foot in FoCo since 2019, I can still vote in local elections. And yet, I just did. :)
