Rewatching Law & Order now that the whole original series is on Hulu. Got to the episode where Chevy Chase guest starred as a Mel Gibson-esque actor who goes on an anti-semitic tirade while drunk. I find this casting fascinating since he got booted from Community for using the n-word.

Apparently there is a big scam going on right now targeting American banks. The scammers are somehow spoofing the real bank phone numbers. Don’t trust any phone calls you get from your banks until this is figured out!

I took the money I had been giving to a state paper (I now get it for free from work) and gave it to NPR. Love my new mug.

@bsky.app this is the issue we have with you banning @jessiegender that people like Rowling can literally call for the eradication of a minority group but when someone from that group claps back you ban them. Acts like that will doom this app.

I had a random librarian give me the best compliment. I offered to give her feedback, and the promptly fell down the rabbit hole of orientations. She nudged me, and I told her that I was sorry I hadn’t emailed her and explained in detail my opinion about something. Apparently I made her laugh!

I spent four hours today at our new graduate student fair: one for set up / take down, and there talking with people rushing us like a Black Friday sale on Tickle Me Elmos (my Boomer/Gen X/Xennial peeps know what I’m talking about). I am SPENT. I need a G&T and a soak in the tub.

I finished listening to “Don’t Let Him In,” by Lisa Jewell on Libby, and wow. The villain of the novel is a con man, and has his own narrated chapters. She nailed the internal dialog of the motivations and justifications of a psychopath.

TCM is featuring Myth movies this month, and I’m excited because I’ve always enjoyed reading about Greek myths, and I’m 75% through Stephen Fry’s Mythos. Tonight, I’m watching “Helen of Troy,” and it has not disappointed. I need to draw everyone’s attention to the Trojan military outfits.

A dog I sit for frequently has crossed the 🌈 🌉. He was so sweet and gentle. A true cloud baby. He was blind and elderly, and someone abandoned him on the side of the road. My friends made it so the last 6 months of his life were filled with unconditional love and joy. He was a very good boy.

Finally finished this Christmas tree skirt after a decade.

Woke up in the middle of the night drenched in sweat. Yay, perimenopause.

I splurged and got a new portable air conditioner for my bedroom for summer, and I am so glad I did. The old one I had was so loud. The one I got from black and decker is quieter, and more powerful.

Just got a bill for a procedure that is $1200. I’m so tired of all of this.
