here is a foundational problem with AI art that AI cannot solve: anyone using it to make art cannot identify bad art. you learn how to recognize bad art (and improve as an artist) via MAKING art, which they have already fully rejected. the sets do not intersect.

Apparently my spellcheck gave up a few days ago without me noticing, and I'm so sorry for the horror you might have witnessed during that time.

I need games to stop offering me the option to skip a combat section after repetedly dying as they need to understand that I'm not playing to have fun; I'm playing to slam my face against a concrete wall until it breaks so I can get an artifical sense of accomplishment.

Start collecting inspirations. Don't just click like and scroll by, start building a hoard of all the things you love so you can go back to admire them whenever you need inspiration or direction. Having your own personally curated reference library is so much more useful than a google search.

I like making low stake resolutions that are more about positive changes than achievements. Last year's was telling ppl when I enjoyed the things they made, and this year I'm aiming to actually play/watch/read things I suspect I really will enjoy rather than hoarding them for a rainy day.

Everyday I'm fighting the urge to start a new Elden Ring playthrough.

One thing AI-generated content has made worse are videos highlighting hidden gems of the Steam Winter Sale because among human creators recommending titles like Babushka's Glitch Dungeon and BYTEPATH, I have encountered too many monotone voices informing me of the hidden gem called Hollow Knight.

I think that one of the reason Elden Ring became one of my favorite games is that I so often feel in the mood for "Deep RPG, but no one talks to me."
