At a Transformers convention today, got to witness a very happy person finding their “holy grail” of a Megatron figure. Bonus: asked them to share why they wanted it so much, which they were more than happy to do, and also tell me about their “Megatron Shelf”. Love it when people find Their Stuff.

Dad got a new iPad and the sales person at the BestBuy went above and beyond. He asked me today "do you think I could tip him a $20 or a gift card, or would he get in trouble?" I told him I wasn't sure but if he could, make a trip back and try to tell a manager there how good that guy did.

Not during the movie, but certainly the most memorable for *me* The person that I saw "The Spirit" with in theaters was so unhappy/frustrated with that film, I recall them throwing a quarter? (It was something small) at the screen before we left after the movie was over.

Some people just seem to want to eliminate all potential sources of discomfort, no matter how small or innocuous, from their lives. Fiction allows you to model experiencing big emotions in a safe controlled setting, and I just don't think any good comes of avoiding that to this degree
