We played a 2000 pts game of 3rd edition 40k tonight! It was a hoot! But man, the close combat rules are presented in such a disorganized way it makes it very hard to reference! I think 1000-1500 pts with 4 turn missions is the sweet spot for 3rd edition.

Played a second game of 3rd edition and it's flaws in close combat really showed. I was also NOT prepared for the Necron nerfs from the chapter approved list to the codex list. Still impressed with how much smoother moving and shooting was in 3rd, and I'm looking forward to a 4th edition game!!
