Many of us just want to know how bad it's going to get over the next 10 or 20 years. We want the grim details, without any sugar coating. We're mature enough to handle it. We're not little kids who need bedtime stories.

Remember when some of us were talking about toxic positivity? This is where we warned everyone it would take us: Companies make smiling an official job requirement while our governments abandon their responsibilities and tell everyone the real problem is their attitude and appearance.

"My" local police threatened to arrest me for trying to protect a homeless guy eating a sandwich on my front porch, not bothering anyone. I *do* fear every interaction with my local officials will turn into an interaction with the Regime, and it's been that way for a long, long time.

She's back. Yes, Bluesky should apologize to her. It's outrageous that writers and journalists are under assault in this country, and the site that claims to be "billionaire proof" is also sabotaging us at every opportunity.

My gut hunch: Kendzoir was probably not banned by a human for any reason, but by an automated computer process by accident, and BlueSky doesn't want to admit this mistake nor to open up that automation for debate. It wants the power to let computers do this w/o expending $ for human review.

Bluesky suspended Sarah Kendzior today for no reason whatsoever. She just shared excerpts of her articles, which were as always incisive and not offensive at all. Hey

At least one study has shown that having to smile and perform happiness for patrons and customers shreds your mental health and leads to higher rates of drinking and substance abuse. What does it say about the fragility of Americans that everyone must smile at them constantly?

Unfortunately, I think that's how they want it. They want white supremacists to be able to kidnap anyone they want. They'll "warn" us about it, they'll "urge" agents to ID themselves, when they could *require* them to, not just when they feel like it's "safe." They want to do nothing.
