It’s always a good time to update your bug out bag. Sub in some old clothes, make sure nothing has expired, make sure you have tape, rope, and a way to get potable water!

Same can be said about accessibility. Often I've heard of the fear of getting it perfect and if it's not then disabled players will be upset. But I often say try to make it as best as you can and then iterate on it in the future so you can get it right. You can't learn unless you try.

The indie area at Gamescom is an intense exercise in market research. I noticed games with a hand drawn cartoon style (e.g. Hilda) had few players at the booths. Seems to have fallen out of fashion for the Germans. Curious if that translates outside of the country.

Going to Gamescom next week to demo our new dimension and be a judge for a hackathon. Hopefully, I can find some time to see games. Most conferences recently have been me stuck in a small room, screaming in VR.

I've been writing this dimension for the last few months! Lots of New Jersey jokes, Mafia jokes, and maybe even me doing my first ever character VO. Scary stuff. Enjoy :D

I think that as an indie game dev without a large publisher, your target audience is not gamers in general, it is sickos. It's hardcore sickos that will be diving the depths of your genre and finding your game, and it is sickos who will be spreading it. Please the passionate, not the masses.

Something I think about a lot: Huge companies are banking on the most optimistic case for AI. This is counter to the way technology is works. What happens if they’re wrong? Even a little error will cause catastrophic economic damage. If they’re really wrong? Possible dark age.
