To be sure, there can be (and are!) bad actors in bad faith using A.I. for bad, impure purposes. No disagreement there. But your anti-A.I. stance does not justify or excuse the decision to deliberately misuse something that is intended to help disabled people. Abusing alt text will have real harm.

Some are suggesting you deliberately write inaccurate or confusing alt text, because they say this confuses AI scrapers that are analyzing images. The purpose of alt text is to help people who cannot see the image. Deliberately misrepresenting the image is a gross misuse of alt text. Don't do it.

TNT, I hate to say this, but "nearly white gray on light blue" is horrendously inaccessible. Fucking 1.12 colour contrast 🥴 (It's rgb(204, 204, 204) for the text and rgb(159, 197, 232) for the background. Which equates to Gray80 text on a very soft blue background.)
