I’m now working through a small stack of home invasion novels and it’s a shockingly underwritten subgenre in modern horror. We’ve got hella haunted houses but hardly any honest to god invasions. This says something about us, but I’m not sure what. Perhaps I’ll find out at the bottom of the stack.

Drew a Hound of Tindalos from a short story by Frank Belknap Long, released in a short story collection of his work in 1946. The hounds are creatures that exist outside of time and space. They can emerge in the form of smoke from any angle of a certain sharpness, like the corner of a room.

I had the privilege of seeing this short film based on my story in a packed theater last night.
