I feel like too many folks are failing to grasp that something can be illegal and also still happen. “That won’t happen, it’s *illegal*” is a logically unsound statement.

If you have syllabus language you are willing to share that clearly identifies yourself as a mandatory reporter and maintains a tone of supportiveness, I (a first-time instructor) would greatly appreciate seeing how you phrase it!
