The whole westernization localization thing feels kinda misguided in Jake Hunter / Jinguji Saburo, I'm a bit nostalgia biased for it in Ace Attorney, but that series is also goofy and doesn't take itself seriously, whereas in a traditional, hard-boiled detective story it's just distracting
