In today's WTF-itude, a sealed and supposedly waterproof storage bag in the basement is full of slightly damp fabric that smells of ammonia. It's not musty, there's no mold, and no evidence of animal or insect intrusion. I'm so confused, now. Oh well, off to the washing machine, it goes!

I'm going to have a yard sale, this weekend. I have a bunch of stuff I'd like to get rid of, I haven't found a new job, yet, so some extra cash would be nice to have. Plus, I can totally tag some things with, like, "Definitely Not Haunted".

I am baffled by (but secretly happy about) the fact that most people don't know what serviceberries are, because that means I can go back multiple times to the same spot and, even after the birbs have their share, still get SO MANY BERRIES!!!

I went to bed a little past 11, but then woke up just before 1 and couldn't fall back to sleep, because a story was banging on my skull, trying to get out. So, I came downstairs and wrote, longhand, for an hour and a half. It's not done, but I think I'm finally ready to go back to sleep. #Writing

Mulberry ink results: It's beautiful and magical, but very thin. Not sure how well it would stay in a fountain pen, at the moment. Works beautifully with a dip pen, though! Might need to put this back on the heat, tomorrow, and either reduce it a little more, or add more gum arabic. #InkMaking

I went back to the mulberry tree and picked about half a grocery bag worth of berries off the ground... hardly made a dent. Then, I discovered that the nearby serviceberries are ripe, so I foraged myself some of those, as well - leaving plenty for the birbs and any other urban foragers.

I visited a craft-supplies-reuse shop, today, and got a rather decent amount of alpaca wool roving (that's been in this plastic bag since 2010, if the tag inside the bag was for the same fiber) for about $10. IT IS SO SOFT!!! I am SUPER excited to use it! #FiberArts

Mind you, I did the tree stuff earlier in the day... but it was still hot and disgusting. (For the C folks, it's currently 31, with a feels-like temperature of 34. Save me, please.)

I dug a black walnut sapling out from under the fence. As much as I would have loved to have let it go, it was very close to starting to damage the fence. I replanted it elsewhere in the yard. I'm not sure if it'll make it, but at least I'm giving it a fighting chance.
