when the internet landscape is filled with people who barely are able to skim what chatgpt summarizes for them you just have to respect survival of the fittest at that point.

assuming media literacy out of your audience in the year of our lord 2026 is a tall ask, but it's always kind of plagued comics really. make your story for the minority who actually pays attention, they deserve to be rewarded for their intelligence.

I've been saying for years you can't protect yourself from the illiterate. many comic artists tell me their anxieties about feeling like they failed if their audience doesn't understand their story and I tell them they'll have an easier time by assuming their audience is failing them by not reading.

As a vision impaired person I would rather have ppl don't use fancy text in their posts. Alt text is nice, I recommend keeping a simple summary followed by longer explanation just so I know when it's convenient to pause or skip over details I don't want blasted from the speakers.

It can be as basic as saying. ( OC is laying down in a white sofa with a smile. Arms crossed.) Or you can go into details about the area/environment. Anything that we should noticed in your shot. ALT is not for you(if you can see) but others who can't or struggle.
