I love jacaranda trees; they always remind me of warm spring evenings in my southern California college days. They're also Latin American immigrants. To see video of a volunteer medic treating a police-wounded stranger (bystander) under a streetlight & jacaranda blossom in LA last night is stunning.

Happy World Environment Day!!! Channel Islands National Park is home to the only Brown Pelican nesting colony in the western USA! Brown Pelicans can live as long as 40 years, so the brown headed juveniles like the bird in the 2nd photo may have a long life ahead of it! #birds #Environment #nature
