Recognising the state of Palestine at the United Nations General Assembly is a vital step but it must be backed by real action. If recognition does not come with a demand for peace, a chance for Palestinians to rebuild and heal and the resumption of aid and supplies, it will be meaningless.

Two Salvadoran human rights defenders are being held incommunicado in prison after being arrested for peacefully protesting in May. Foreign governments should step up their condemnations of abuses in El Salvador and press the Bukele administration to drop unsubstantiated charges.

The UK gov should be past assessing a ‘risk’ of genocide in Gaza. Israel is committing genocide - top legal experts agree. In 2024, the ICJ ordered “immediate & effective measures” to protect Palestinians. This ‘finding’ & refusal to end arms exports to Israel breach the duty to prevent genocide.

As much as I disliked the Guggenheim museum in Bilbao, I *LOVED* the Museo de Bellas Artes (museum of fine art) in

In other news: I think the Guggenheim museum building in Bilbao is overrated (sorry - but look at that clunky detailing, and it's the only art museum that has postcards only of the building and none of the art it contains... How up itself!) but lots of other things here are fab.

Look, this is not a new issue, but people really need to get a grip and grow up. If you think an additional 73 people per 10,000 are why services are fecked you are living in a fantasy world. It isn't people coming to the UK seeking safety who are the issue.

Day in, day out, I speak to ordinary people who are organising to welcome the asylum seekers accommodated in their towns. They befriend, support them, reach out to them as fellow human beings. That's the Britain I know, the one I see around me & we never get told about on TV.
