Aerik was originally from Aerslaent (although at the time, we didn't know the name of the Sea Wolf homeland so I had to just say "Where the Sea Wolves came from") But he spent a large part of his youth in La Noscea too - through a LONG story, he came to live with a couple on their farm!

I just realized: This explains WHY Zenos was brought back and kept around at the end of 4.X and why he was given a role in Endwalker. He was likely intended to be a major part of the story arc in the original plan for 6.0 and when Garlemald's role was reduced, his would have had to be rewritten.
