I think we should replace bonfire night with a quiet celebration of the night skies. Once every year we should turn off all lights for an hour or two, stop everything and gaze at the stars.

Mission Mouse In retrospect my mission to evict mice from the heat revcovery unit was always doomed. Far cleverer than me, they soon overturned the humane traps, stole the bait, stuffed them with bedding and made a warm winter nest. Back to the drawing board then.

What if we stop shouting? Those who donāt understand science feel disenfranchised by the system and our world of technology. Thereās a battle but each side is on a different battlefield screaming outrage into an infinite chasm between. Itās not a fight about the science, itās a fight for science.

Thereās clear, positive correlation between economic success and inward migration. And, thereās no alternative, realistic way for an ageing population to pay for its own care.

The truth: we need migration. The problem: too many politicians are terrified to say it. Why? They're led by a) toxicity of the charlatans & b) wealthy media organisations who demand these useful distractions rather than us talking about inequality. Reject it. Draw the line.

While it will be a roaring success with their core supporters, it will turn the council into a national example of climate denial, harming the county's interests and reputation. A strategy that prioritizes short-term cultural signalling over long-term, pragmatic governance.

Repellent climate denial from the Reform-led Kent Council, who have tabled a motion to ārescind the climate emergencyā, in a document that is bollocks from start to end. You canāt rescind atmospheric physics. But Farage would rescind the Climate Change Act.

Having lived in Kent from childhood until last year ago this makes me so sad. I left because it had become too noisy and polluted with degraded countryside and crowded villages. Once Englandās idyllic Garden its council are now in idealistic denial.

Stag often paddles along the lochside at dawn. He didn't say why he loves it so: perhaps there are morsels in the bladderwrack or the saltwater cleans his hooves or maybe he's absorbed in the scenery and making the most of the times when he can inhale new air without fear. I felt like an intruder.
