I care that the art I engage with is made by humans, regardless of how "good" the tech may become, that is the underlying contention, that is important to me and cannot be bargained away. I'm sick of hearing about compromise this and middle ground that, do you want to hear my compromise? Remove it.

Why am I so against generative AI in games? Because I simply do not want my initial reaction to art to be one of suspicion and scrutiny, AI slop is fundamentally damaging my relationship to art and artistry, and I am deeply resentful that it is forcing me to be guarded when I should be wowed.

I'll still hope - and begin demanding if needs be - that all devs everywhere eventually swear off generating AI slop for ANY facet of ANY of their upcoming modern games, and hold to account any who still do so... but going back and finding a classic to play is honestly a damn great idea!
