Just tried Copilot to locate a paper dealing with the effect of partial dopamine system lesions in the brain. Not only did it fail to locate the paper I was looking for, it actually invented fake references. Scary.

Loved this heartfelt and fierce thread reflecting on the work of revitalizing such an important satire publication. Next day I got my paper and my jaw was on the floor for just how hard they're punching now. The entire paper is like this. All the fake ads are targeting Elon Musk companies.

Looks like the final nail in the coffin for the excitatory GABA in development, 15 years after the theory was shown to be based on experimental artifacts (at the same institute, no less): “even during the first post-natal days, the net action of GABA is inhibitory, but not excitatory.” 🧠

I have an opening in my lab for a postdoctoral fellow to work on projects that relate to the mechanisms of neurotransmitter release by dopamine neurons and/or on how inflammatory signals infuence the functionning of these neurons. Please share.
