“New research confirms that reducing immigration is not good for the economy or U.S. workers. In recent weeks, several studies have concluded that the U.S. would prosper by welcoming more immigrants rather than reducing their entry and engaging in mass deportation.”

Again, this is FALSE. Administrative warrants are NOT signed by an immigration judge (or any judge at all). They are generated and signed by ICE officers themselves with no external oversight whatsoever. Here is a blank sample warrant. Note who signs off on it; an "immigration officer."

On this day nine years ago, I saw the worst and the best of this country. January 28, 2017 was the first full day that the original Trump Muslim Ban was implemented, causing chaos at airports around the world, including at SeaTac. 1/4

The Trump administration is ending Temporary Protected Status for roughly 350,000 Haitians. The aging care industry is expected to lose many workers as a result. Elizabeth Trovall reports from a senior community in Florida where 26 staff members are set to lose their work permits.

Many people are asking how they can help by donating their time or money during this difficult time. Below are some notes from King County Emergency Management. [note:

Unanimous First Circuit takes pains to emphasize that this was an incredibly easy case to decide, despite writing a very long opinion knocking down every ridiculous argument the Trump admin made.

Three cheers for the Constitution's right to a jury: a federal jury in Los Angeles "took just over an hour to acquit [Brayan] Ramos-Brito of a misdemeanor assault count" in an ICE-scuffle case hinging heavily on the testimony of border sector chief Gregory Bovino, now doing raids in Chicago.

I join the many leaders condemning the hateful rhetoric of an Arizona elected official against Rep. Pramila Jayapal,
@jayapal.house.gov
. Calling for the hanging of a member of Congress for advocating for non-violent protest is not only an attack on her but a threat to a core tenet of our democracy.

64% of Medicaid recipients under age 65 work, per KFF. As for the rest, see below. There are not 34m potential agricultural workers on Medicaid just raring to go pick vegetables.

With this vote, Congress makes ICE the highest-funded federal law enforcement agency in history, with more money per year at its disposal over the next four years than the budgets of the FBI, DEA, ATF, US Marshals, and Bureau of Prisons combined.

Sadly not a new phenomenon. Many veterans have been deported over the years, often because of drug problems they acquired after PTSD from their time in the service.

Wildly unlawful and will immediately cause MORE chaos for refugees and, ironically, force them to use more benefits like SNAP!
