Good to see the Mayfield Review launched. The rise in health-related inactivity is bad for workers, employers, and public finances. If we want to address this rise, we need to keep people well in work. That will require stronger incentives & better support for employers.

Today the Chancellor signalled that taxes will rise in the Budget. Our General Secretary @joedromey.bsky.social explains how the government can raise the revenue we need, without breaching the manifesto or holding back growth.

The Chancellor has today indicated taxes will rise at the budget. She reaffirmed her fiscal rules. But OBR’s downgrade to productivity will create a big fiscal gap. She has said - rightly - said that there will be no return to austerity. So that means taxes will need to go up.
