a big reason why i stepped back (and hence lost a lot of love of the splatoon community) was because when i was trying to defend women (and myself!!!) behind closed doors, i was constantly shot down people (men) think that because you're nice that they can step all over you. don't let them.

(rp from my twt) One of my first interactions with anyone from the community btw I didn't even feel safe enough to tell anyone until long after. Even if incidents like these aren't known they are commonplace and often go under the radar, and are in large part what makes a lot of women leave.
