Today we hiked 13.5 km along the Eagle Valley Trail which runs (mostly) beside the Eagle River from Edwards to Avon and back. Past the sad ski slopes of Arrowhead. No sign of snow in the forecast. Looks like

It's been very unseasonably warm here in Colorado. So much so that this is the warmest March ever recorded on record. And to think a major political party believes climate change is a hoax. WTF are we doing America? 🌎

Libs’ Ashton Hurn should not be treated as victim this election. Her first vow as leader was to scrap SA’s Indigenous Voice. Let’s not forget it was Libs’ No Campaign which unleashed the politics of hate, grievance and division on Australia. Libs let loose this ugly One Nation beast and it ate them!

Another glorious non-winter day. We hiked the Sallie Barber Mine Trail (snowy but no need for snow shoes) - always lovely, winter and summer. Distant views back to Keystone.

It's 50F / 10C at Keystone - like the end of spring skiing, despite yesterday's snowfall (now all gone). We hiked with friends and K9 Kasha at Acorn Creek where some snow lingered.

Las Vegas set to hit 100° next weekend. For reference, the earliest day on record for reaching 100 in Las Vegas is May 1, 1941. Almost a month and a half early.

Less and less snow - we resort to early morning ski runs and snowshoeing. Fingers crossed for snowfalls this weekend. Today we snowshoed icy, muddy Willow Trail at base of Breckenridge.

My parents’ Betta electrical store, Springvale: the shop was our life, and it was enough | Alice Pung
They were survivors of the killing fields and Mao’s China – and their shop was not just their existence, it was their second chance at redemption, writes author Alice Pung It is the last day for my parents to pack their stock, peel off the handwritten “SALE: please ask for Special” posters and close their Springvale shop of almost 35 years. We aren’t supposed to open the doors, because we’re still packing, but my mother insists. We aren’t just boxing toasters and air fryers and blenders, speakers and sandwich presses, but more curious things not found in regular Betta stores: cloth-covered shopping trolleys, wooden-handled umbrellas (marked at a bargain $10) and a dozen pink glitter pencil cases my mother had bought during a post-Christmas Kmart sale to gift to children so their parents would stay longer and hopefully buy that fridge they’d been looking at for the past 40 minutes. Alice Pung is an award-winning author, artist-in-residence at the University of Melbourne’s Janet Clarke Hall and an adjunct professor at RMIT University Continue reading...

Have you met the Democrats?! I’m not so optimistic that justice will be forthcoming. If that were the case, there’d be Democrats now who would sacrifice their own reputations to say what they know about Epstein, and who would call out the lobbies of influence. They prefer to save their own arses.

Fancy being led into world conflict by such a mob of hateful, reprehensible people. That’s what feels even more devastating this time around. Even in the disaster of the Iraq invasion, while we knew they were lying, they hadn’t been going out of their way to be the most vile, venal criminals.

Only months ago Australian media & politicians were hyperventilating about China’s so-called infringements of “rules based international order” by sailing non-violently in international waters around Australia. Same media & pollies condone US/Israel murdering/bombing Iranians. Hypocrisy? Much?
