Obviously I'm Canadian, but most of my posts refer to the US, unless clearly stated otherwise. That's because most of our issues these days deal with environment, economics, and war, all global issues, and issues that are now most affected by the US.

There are lots of well known variations of this: Idiots are so sure of themselves, but intelligent people are full of doubt. I'm skeptical when someone says they have a simple answer. If the answer were that simple, we wouldn't be in this mess.

Something that could drive us nuts is the search for reason in stuff that will never make sense. Perhaps we will never understand what's going on around us. Perhaps it's just not understandable. Perhaps our anger and fear just prove that we are still human.

Why don't members of the media defend each other? When Rachel Scott was verbally attacked by the orange stain, why didn't someone say: "Sir, we're doing our jobs. This is what we are paid to do." Yes, they'll lose access, but access to him has become meaningless anyway.
