Noticed that @musicbrainz.org updated their standards for release date and the genre delimiter. Being the compulsive curator that I am, I had to update the metadata on all 16,252 mp3s in my collection yesterday.

Discovering that quite a few notable musicians are on the #fediverse, the tricky part is finding them. I've added their accounts to #wikidata and #musicbrainz, but what other ways are there to improve discoverability?

I've spent hours and hours tweaking my music library today. At the moment I have 285 albums without a MusicBrainz match out of 7065 total albums, so only about 4%. I've also come to hate Discogs since every single Discogs-to-MusicBrainz import is wrong.

If MetaBrainz's CritiqueBrainz made the ratings 0-10 and formatted non-review ratings properly I'd switch ASAP. MusicBrainz is at least an actual "archive" and not just a step over Discogs's title case nonsense

the spotify audio features API has been deprecated and it looks like I’ve been grandfathered into the old API but this doesn’t bode well for the future of genderswap.fm probably should find some other tool (open source?) which allows identifying bpm, acousticness, etc from tracks
