My sweet boy came home today and now has a permanent spot on my shelf alongside my dad necklace (which is on Leo’s urn)… was very bittersweet setting up this lil’ corner for him but I’m just happy that he’s back home with me.

Going over to my cousin’s for dinner yesterday was a mistake… I’m still wiped from how loud it was, how there were enough people there I didn’t know that it put me on edge. It wore me down more than this week already has - I’m exhausted, the grief is hitting me nonstop, and I’m just so tired.

Seeing that Leo's still coherent enough to recognize my touch and lean into my hand when I reach out to pet him is tearing me apart inside... he can't walk, hasn't eaten or drank anything in days, and yet he's still mentally here enough to be affectionate towards me. I'm fuckign sobbing.

Trying not to think about things too hard since we just put down one cat a few weeks ago, but I think... my old man is starting to show signs of going. We lost Sora to kidney failure due to old age, and I'm pretty sure Leo is having the same thing happen since I'm seeing similarities.
