Maintainers teams getting annoyed by AI generated contributions is a symptom of poorly defined contribution guidelines and a naif open source culture. When barriers for contribution disappears, you get hit by the reality that accepting/reviewing everyone's ideas is not sustainable.

Starting the working week with a clean Debian 13 install with XFCE 4.20. Last time I updated my laptop was 2 years ago when Debian 12 was released and in terms of features I didn't have any reason to upgrade. I did it just because I enjoy it. I love stable software and stable releases.

Since the enshitification of Search Engines I find myself using zealdocs.org A LOT. I love how easy is to navigate across multiple documentations. Fun Fact: my use of LLM gets reduced drastically when a tool has a good documentation.

We need more of this mindset of Complete Software. Software that does not need constant updates, does not need constant care, they do not need to be constantly evolving. Software with a fixed scoped that fulfill its purposes.

Morning thought: LLMs and "vibe coding" will become the fast fashion industry of Software Development: cheap, low quality and unsustainable products flowing the market. I found them quite useful, but under the current capitalist logic they will became a polluting agent of the digital world.

I learned yesterday that my elderly parents weren't going to renew their house insurance "because it's all now online and too daunting." Suffice it to say I said I'd help them sort it, but I wonder how many elderly are losing services because the Internet is scary/impersonal to them.
