Bay Area Bikesky! The meeting to determine the future of the multiuse path on the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge will take place on Thursday, March 20th. If MTC gets its way, what is now a 24/7 path will only be open to walking or biking Friday-Sunday, with a shuttle during daylight hours M-Th.

I’m working at UC Berkeley today so I had to swing by to see how the new protected bike lanes are working out. This is Dana St. at Durant Ave.

Today we celebrated the new section of SMART path in San Rafael. SMART caught Lucas and I in the second picture. Unfortunately we were late and missed the group ride with @marinbike.org. The new path makes about 7 miles of trail from the Larkspur station & ferry terminal.

I spent New Years Day with my friend Tony riding the Napa Valley Vine Trail for the first time in 10 years. We covered about 10 of the 47 planned miles. One day it will connect Vallejo with Calistoga.

Just from an efficiency perspective, what would be more effective at eliminating traffic deaths? Trying to fix all 110 jurisdictions in the Bay (101 cities and 9 counties) responsible for 52% of fatalities? Or reforming the one agency whose roads see the other 48%?

I made it through my first Thanksgiving without a family member talking about gas prices. They’re starting to get me.

My bike commute is much safer and faster today after today’s Iron Horse Trail Bridge ribbon cutting. While this is car infrastructure too, I can still appreciate it for being one less grade separation on a fantastic urban trail. Check out the new park on your visit.
