Having a keen eye for environmental storytelling is useful when working around old boxcars. "Hm, these rows of huckbolts 6 feet from each end of the car are suspicious, and the section after them are painted differently" Surprise! this 52 foot boxcar was built as a 40 foot boxcar for grain service!

Trimet's light rail system, called MAX, is short for Metropolitan Area eXpress. MAE sounds lame. Remember to do your part in reducing automotive emissions and congestion by taking transit when you can! The collar was my favorite part of this outfit. I used a new technique to create the stripes.

Fare evading is a practice long-observed in the Bay, with agencies back in the 50s having to deal with it too! Fenders at the ends of Key System trains were the popular stoop on which neighbourhood teens hitched rides. One can wonder if any rode it over the windy Bay Bridge!

Yesterday was the So Cal Railway Museum’s first Electric Railway Parade since 2016 and yours truly was selected as the grand marshal/host! We had a lot of rare equipment out operating and it was a fun and rewarding experience for both myself and the museum, but also the public! #trolleys #trains
