On the way to the hotel we stopped to take a picture of Mt. Shasta, which turned out nice, aside from the power polls. Then stopped again to take a picture of the odd cloud formation we've seen all day. Here it is in Weed behind the Taco Bell. And that's Black Butte, which is our next hike—👩‍🔬:😥

After five miles, we leaving the top, after scrambling around for views. The tallest are still ahead, so we're on a forecrag.

At 6.5, with less than a half mile to the top, I called the hike based on slow it is, with parts like this, and how much daylight is left.
