I've been thinking about this since I saw it. The biggest fight I have with my editors is on repetition. A certain amount of repetition is normal and natural, and stamping it out too hard makes your writing look artificial and--to me--unwelcoming.

I say this every year, but in case anyone else needs to hear it: not everything you write/create needs to sell or have some deeper purpose. It’s okay to experiment, to not worry if every sentence is perfect, to just write something for the fun of it that no one else needs to ever see.
