What else would you expect from a plan that takes away health care, cuts food assistance, dismantles progress on climate change, and increases the cost of college all to give the very rich big tax cuts.

After months of baseless claims about “extreme levels of fraud” within Social Security, Musk's DOGE has found only 2 likely fraudulent claims out of over 110,000—that makes it a rate of .0018%. So DOGE found virtually no fraud and made an integral American system less efficient.

House Republicans have explicitly linked the cost-shift to "accountability" for 40+ states that use a federal option to expand access to SNAP for working families with kids, seniors & disabled people. It's just a deeply cynical ploy to force states to make cuts they don't want to get blamed for.

New @centeronbudget.bsky.social analysis of the draft GOP tax plan released yesterday: Unsurprisingly, it provides enormous tax cuts for the wealthy—including an average annual $65k cut for the top 1%—while doing little for low- and moderate-income families in 2027 (and even less by 2029).

This bill is a disaster for children. It walks away from a 50-year commitment to ensure that poor children in rural Alabama and New York City all have access to the food assistance they need to grow and thrive.

Yet another way the House Republican budget bill hides the true costs of its harmful cuts to health care and food assistance and bucks responsibiltiy.

The new GOP proposal for SNAP cuts would take food off the table of 7 year olds if their parents can't report enough work hours. When my kids were 7, they were playing foursquare, learning math facts, and being silly. Imagine getting LESS help to feed your kids if your boss cuts your hours.

It’s deeply disappointing that House Republicans are planning to take food away from people who have fled their homes seeking safety in our nation and have completed rigorous processes to obtain refugee or asylum. Historically these humanitarian statuses have been supported by both parties.

The House bill would take the Child Tax Credit away from 4.5M U.S. citizen children - shameful.

A $370 billion cut to Medicaid wouldn't go toward deficit reduction--it would finance the $350 billion tax break for millionaire owners of pass-through businesses that would go into the same freaking bill.

The Trump budget would eliminate LIHEAP, a $4B cut that would leave 6M ppl w/ very low incomes w/o critical assistance for energy bills. This after DOGE fired the entire staff on Apr 1, delaying release of $378M for cooling & emergency energy assistance.
