Now that the House R reconciliation plan has been unveiled, it’s clear that on top of ending food assistance, health coverage and other supports for millions of people with low incomes, they are seeking to cause even more harm to immigrants and their families.

By deleting a few imp words from the E&C bill, the reconciliation bill the Hse Rules cmte is likely to advance creates an unconscionable decision for states: end health coverage for lawfully residing immigrant kids & pregnant adults or face steep federal Medicaid funding cuts.

Current law already bars people without a documented immigration status from food assistance through #SNAP. And many people with lawful immigration statuses are also barred including adults who are lawful permanent residents in their first five years in the U.S.
