But don't turn the other cheek when you feel conflicted. Confront those feelings, and try to understand that maybe it's not a good idea to put an idols feelings and work over others they have hurt. Avoid the pedastal.

If your idol acting this way, a person you've admired over the years- Think about how you would feel if a close friend did that to you. Would you let them have a pass of hurting you then? It hurts when it happens, it also sucks that its normal for stuff like this TO happen.

Your faves will fuck up. Big or small. It helps to see their work and them as human, and I know that we can have profound connections to their work- But you cannot simply ignore their actions or harmful behaviours simply because you like their stuff.

If ever there is a lesson to learn about artists you find out being absolute monsters to other people, and your first reaction is to feel conflicted because you 'liked their work', I deeply suggest avoiding putting ANYONE atop a pedastal. Yes, that means your favourite artist.
