A brown, Muslim immigrant took on a 3 term governor who is the son of 3 term governor, the entire democratic party, the establishment, POTUS, and won!

One of the best moments from @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social inauguration yesterday was when the crowd started chanting Tax the Rich These millionaires became rich leeching off the government while paying little to nothing in taxes & contributing zilch to society. It's high time they pay their dues.

Yesterday @gauravsabnis.bsky.social and I watched It Happened on 5th Avenue and it's such a perfect christmas movie. I hadn't even heard of that movie until Gaurav suggested it. It's a perfect blend of comedy, heart warming, Christmas movie that's still relevant today with the housing crisis.

It's one of those rare day when I'm in the mood to cook so this is everything I've cooked so far (pic) -Cauliflower, potatoes and peas sabji cooked in the oven -Chicken achari gosht -Paratha I'm also making Kashmir Rogan Josh chicken curry and I've marinated chicken tandoori for tomorrow 😁

Last night we finally ate at Semma and the food was absolutely worth it!! Scallops, rabbit leg, chicken, tiger prawns, dosa, branzino and the cocktails were all delicious. I highly recommend Semma if you like seafood and Indian food. I would love to go back and try their dungesess crab and lobster.

With federal cuts to health care funding, NY hospitals are at risk of closure. NYers deserve a voice. Local Input for Community Healthcare (LICH) bill would require community concerns be heard & addressed by state officials before hospitals or units close. @governor.ny.gov – sign the LICH bill now!

Went are so many Netflix shows about cheating 🙄🙄 I tried to watch The Big C & gave up after a few episodes. Then tried to watch Friends From College. Not a great show but managed to finish season 1. Not sure I'm going to watch season 2 Can't seem to find a show that doesn't center around cheating

TN07 is a story about gerrymandering: the GOP cracked Nashville into 3 districts when it redrew the 2022 map, destroying the Dem seat there. Fast-forward: a section of Nashville, which just 5 years ago had a Dem representative, is now voting Dem by huge margins but it's been designed to not matter.

I stopped using insta and Twitter for over a year and my mental health and mood improved so much! I still read news but cutting out doom scrolling was important for my overall well being. I'm back on social media but really try to minimize my use to maybe an hour a week.
