Israel insists these groups undermine its war effort. But humanitarian organizations exist precisely because war undermines humanity. They operate under international law, not political allegiance. They document casualties because facts matter. They speak out because silence kills too.

Doctors Without Borders doesn’t run governments, fire rockets, or draft policy. It treats burn victims, amputees, malnourished children, and civilians crushed by war often at great personal risk. If that’s now considered a threat, then the definition of “security” has stretched beyond recognition.

Israel says it will halt the operations of several humanitarian organizations in Gaza starting in 2026 including Doctors Without Borders. Which raises an obvious question: when you block the doctors, the nurses, and the aid workers, who exactly are you at war with?
