Second story I’ve seen this morning of a pedestrian being killed by a bad driver with no consequences. If you want to get away with murder in the US just do it with a car.

This driver killed my friend and got a traffic ticket for not slowing down - the same as you get if you love-tap someone at a red light. He didn't slow down and he ran into my friend, who was crossing the street on foot, and he killed him.

Alright, @chicagocta.bsky.social You redeemed yourself today. Red line train came right as I was running up the stairs. Clark bus was available when I needed it and I was able to catch a bus to get me closer to home . I still think you need to be better on a consistent basis.

It makes such a difference when people clearing the snow also include intersection exits/entrances. Looking forward to the day robots do this work and raised crosswalks are ubiquitous

Help me if I'm missing something but Chicago doesn't implode when people can't park their cars on certain arterials when it snows.....so why the fuck can't we implement some dedicated 24/7/365 bus lanes on these same streets? 🤔

People who park on Chicago's residential streets don't know how good they have it. Subsidized car storage to the point they can leave their cars sitting for weeks or months on end.

I remember my alderwoman saying she couldn't support improvements to the local Greenway because people need their cars. On my ride home I counted 60 cars that haven't moved since the snowfall on Saturday but sure, people NEED their cars.

I absolutely hate biking on Clark St in Rogers Park. Too many aggressive and speeding drivers. I wish the Clark bus wasn't so fucking slow because I'd use it to replace the short commute

Drivers, esp drivers of large trucks, put pedestrians & people on bicycles in harm's way when they block bike lanes and crosswalks. The City needs to develop a real plan for when & where commercial trucks may conduct deliveries. At minimum though citizens should be able to easily report violations.

Unsurprisingly the Clark bike lane from Devon to Ashland is basically impassable due to snow. Really wish Chicago cared as much about about winter bike lane maintenance as they do clearing the road for cars
