Just started The Persephone Effect and already, not even to the second chapter, the prose is so good it's stunlocking me.

Feeling a bit sad looking back at the friends I've lost. People tell you that you'll lose friends when you come out as a trans woman. People don't tell you that all you learn as a result will cause you to lose yet more. It is a trade I'm willing to make, but it's not without cost.
