Whenever the eugenicists trot out a new supposed cause of autism I think it's essential to remind people that neurodivergence is a necessary and beneficial part of the natural diversity of humanity. My neurotype isn't a disease to prevent, it's a difference to understand, support, and celebrate.

Gonna boost this again, but I also want to emphasize that there are many brilliant marginalized creators out there struggling to make ends meet. You don't need to support ME, but if you value the presence of us in your media, and your society, please start showing it in tangible ways.

Putting things into threads on this site is such a crapshoot, in terms of anyone actually reading them. I've lost count of the ideas and words that I've thrown into the void because they took multiple posts to develop. I'm not built for pithy 300 character ejaculations.

It's not just the current generation of queer and trans creators being erased: it's the ability for vulnerable young queer and trans folks to see themselves reflected in the world. By silencing our storytellers, poets, dreamers, artists, and musicians, they rob our youth of hope for a better world.

I was able to convince my surgeon to let me stay on HRT in the lead up to my surgery in 2022, citing these same papers. But even had she required cessation, I wouldn't have complied. They typically don't check your levels before surgery, so just...lie. Your position is medically valid. Theirs isn't.

Was playing a brutally complicated game of chess I my dreams last night. The chess pieces were unrecognizable as themselves and I'd just realized that my opponent was about to promote a pawn to queen when I woke up. I've spent the morning fretting about her being behind my lines.

It's hard to photograph, but my writing environment is sickeningly idyllic right now. From my desk I can look out at the 200+ year old black walnut tree, with deer placidly grazing beneath & my chickens & ducks forraging in the fenced portion of the yard. It's a kinda perfect way to start the day!
