Tomorrow I get to table at a craft fair, selling my books, and then I take my oldest daughter to the marching band championships. It's gonna be an awesome Saturday!

Had a lunch date with my wife today. We talked trans things, including starting HRT. I'm on an experimental drug, and I'm loath to start HRT while on this treatment, which means waiting for at least 18 months. I'm okay with that. But it was good to just... talk.

#Bookvember Yes. Especially early grade school, my parents had pretty tight control over what I read. They had to buy it! Once I got to... fourth grade? Library trips were more common, and I got to read pretty much whatever! I still remember the first swear word I read! Scandalous!

This is a good point. Identification documents should identify a person as they currently are, not how they used to be. I would argue that a sex marker on an ID isn't really useful given the wide variety of bodies and gender presentations. Assumptions based on the listed sex are often wrong.

I just finished reading Magica Riot by @magicariot.com , and I highly recommend it. It's fun, doesn't stop moving, and made me hungry for the sequel! Closeted trans woman gets turned into a magical girl to join a band and protect Portland from terrible threats.

Since I'm a planner, I know before the first word of the rough draft. I usually have at least a general idea pretty quickly in the planning process; I'll write a three or four sentence summary of the book so I know where I'm going.

By the way, that thing you enjoy doing doesn't need to be for anything other than your own enjoyment. It's not a waste of time if you're not "earning" something from it. It doesn't need to be writing or drawing either, it can be a side hobby, like right now, I'm having fun making video edits.
