It's bundle time again! Check this one out! My entry into this, Our Simulated Selves, is a current SPSFC semi-finalist that centers the main character's attempt to understand their neurodivergence (and closeted queerness) by using brain digitization technology and simulated realities.

Ghouls posting "good memories" of a harmful person shows the tendency to favour a "friend" and retain standing with peers above the welfare of others. We see this in hierarchies with "friends of the boss" and churches that side with abusers. Hierarchical systems are poison to human well-being.

Been contemplating this a lot lately, intertwined with the simple truth that Humans Are Not Meant To Be Famous, and fame is trauma, and the younger you're made famous, the more pronounced its negative effects. Already working on one script, tho.

Getting a lot from this book, Exile. Exactly what happened to me after I spent 2002–03 teaching in China. Back in the states I had reverse culture shock so badly. Developed anxiety attacks and spent the next 22 years trying to leave for good. I never felt it was my home, even as a kid.

When I try to explain Mara, it goes something like this: Imagine Dune. Now imagine it wasn't a homophobic, misogynistic male power fantasy racist hero's journey about using native people to regain a throne. So... nothing like Dune. Mara: Dune, but nothing like Dune. prismata-press.itch.io/mara
